IN THE SPOTLIGHT Leeds School of Business welcomes new director by Dean Pajevic, assistant director of communications, Leeds School of Business
The Leeds School of Business recently welcomed Trent Yang, director of Entrepreneurship and Business Development at the University of Colorado Boulder’s Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI). “As director of the RASEI’s business arm, my focus is to expand engagements with the business community to encourage rapid commercialization, joint research, entrepreneurship, and to encourage increased interaction between the business and research community,” said Yang. He is also looking forward to leveraging opportunities to work with students at CU-Boulder. To facilitate these goals, Yang and RASEI work directly with the Leeds School of Business and the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship on a variety of initiatives. The Deming Center is a nationally ranked entrepreneurship program that gives Leeds students cutting-edge business and entrepreneurship courses, access to specialty programs in cleantech, bioscience, and natural/organic products, a rich connection of cross-campus opportunities, and engagement with the Deming Network of successful entrepreneurs. Yang has been active in the cleantech space as a policy analyst, investor, entrepreneur and academia director for almost a decade. Prior to joining CU-Boulder, Yang started a cleantech company in Boston focused on water filtration. Before that, he worked at Globespan Capital Partners where he invested and oversaw investments in cleantech and IT start-up companies. Yang also worked at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he provided strategic and management consulting to Fortune 500 technology companies and government research labs, and spent a number of years working on climate change policies both in academia and in government. |
