Present at the 2009 COLTT conference
Don't miss the opportunity to submit a presentation proposal to the 2009 Colorado Learning and Teaching with Technology (COLTT) conference (formerly known as the Teaching with Technology conference). Share your technical and pedagogical expertise with colleagues from the entire Rocky Mountain region by presenting research about educational technologies or leading a group discussion. The conference will be held at CU-Boulder Aug. 12 and 13 with pre-conference workshops on Aug. 11. Proposal submissions are due April 24. For more information visit the website.

Faculty/staff tuition benefit registration, summer 2009
The University of Colorado offers a tuition benefit to permanent employees of the university. This benefit allows CU to waive up to nine credit hours of tuition per year for eligible employees depending on their percentage of appointment. Courses must be job relevant and/or career enhancing and require supervisory approval. The benefit year begins with the summer term. For summer 2009, the tuition waiver (PDF) form and admissions application (which can be accessed here) must be submitted to the Bursar's Office at 43 UCB by Friday, April 24. Now accepting submissions for “Passages”
Inside CU's "Passages" acknowledges colleagues who have passed on during the year. We are now accepting this year's tributes for publication in the May 12 edition. If you would like to recognize a colleague who passed in the previous 12 months (May 2008-May 2009), please submit a 75-word tribute with his or her name, title and department, along with other information you would like to share. Pictures submitted in jpeg format may also be included. Please send tributes to or click on the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of this page. The deadline for submissions is May 6. Students and alumni add voices to alumni newsletter
Check out the CU-Boulder Alumni Association’s e-newsletter, Buffalum Notes. As part of a monthly feature titled “CU Voices,” each issue includes an original essay written by a student or alumnus. Previous issues are also available.

College of Music sings of new endeavors
Following the CU-Boulder College of Music’s recent relocation of its Concerts Office, the university’s music hub continues to adapt and expand. On March 30, CU Concerts – the organization for ticketed events – officially changed its name to CU Presents to better represent the increasing diversity of the its offerings. CU Presents is now selling season tickets for the 2009-10 concert season. The school is also utilizing new ways to connect with the community, including Facebook pages for both the College of Music and CU Presents. CU’s College of Music also launched its own podcast website, which currently includes three downloadable episodes. Faculty interested in submitting tracks from recent recordings should email Laima Gaigalas or call 303-492-4247.

Spring 2009 Commencement approaching

All faculty and staff are invited to the forthcoming Spring 2009 University Commencement ceremony in Folsom Stadium Friday, May 8. To begin the celebration, the traditional procession from the Norlin Quadrangle to the stadium will start promptly at 8 a.m. Official conferring of degrees takes place only at the university commencement ceremony, while all other scheduled events are hosted to further honor and recognize the graduates.
