2009 Chancellor's Employee of the Year Award
Nominate deserving staff for the 2009 Chancellor's Employee of the Year Award. Chip awarded national mascot championship title
CU Buffaloes Mascot Chip won first place in the Universal Cheerleading Association’s Mascot National Championship competition at the Disney’s Wide World of Sports Arena in Orlando, Fla., Jan. 16. Chip bested 22 other mascots and won by a sizable margin of 11 points on a 100-point scale. Chip’s previous best finish at the competition was fourth place. Distinguished Professor Kristi Anseth elected to National Academy of Engineering
Kristi Anseth, professor in chemical and biological engineering and Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator, has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering, one of the highest professional distinctions accorded an engineer. Anseth was among 65 new members and nine foreign associates of the academy announced Feb. 6. She was recognized for "pioneering the rational design of biomaterials for tissue engineering, drug delivery and biosensing applications."
