ALTEC CultureFest
CultureFest is a spring cultural arts festival taking place on Thursday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center. The event is made possible by the Anderson Language Technology Center (ALTEC) with the intention of embracing all foreign languages and cultures taught at CU-Boulder. CultureFest will include an information fair allowing participants to make a connection with international nonprofit groups, study abroad options and potential career opportunities in foreign languages. Speakers, faculty roundtables, dance demonstrations, music and films will also be featured
Centers and Borders: an Art Exchange
An exhibition featuring art exchanged between China and the United States will show in the Norlin Library Hotspot Gallery April 25-July 31. The opening reception takes place on Thursday, April 24 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Norlin Library room M549 and will include a welcome from Chancellor G.P. “Bud” Peterson at 5:30 p.m. and a lecture given by professors visiting from Ningxia University in China. AAM meeting on campus
The University of Colorado Museum of Natural History will host the annual American Association of Museums (AAM) on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. A welcome speech given by Chancellor G.P. “Bud” Peterson will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Museum Collections Auditorium, room W100. More than 100 guests from universities nationwide are expected to attend.
Look for Green Pledge cords at commencement
Graduating seniors who sign a pledge vowing to be socially and environmentally responsible citizens of the world are recognized by the green cords they wear over their graduation gowns.
2007 was the inaugural year for the pledge, which was signed by more than 200 students at that time. For more information about the graduation green pledge visit the Senior Class Council website.
