Holocaust Awareness Week, Feb. 25-28
Join Hillel and the entire campus community for a series of week-long events in honor of Holocaust Awareness Week, Feb. 25-28 on the Boulder campus. Speakers and films will highlight the issues and experiences of the Second Generation of the Holocaust. All events take place in and around the UMC and are free and open to the public. Tonya Haas named chancellor's chief of staff
Chancellor G.P. "Bud" Peterson named Tonya R. Haas as his chief of staff, effective March 2. Haas currently serves as assistant city and county manager for the City and County of Broomfield. The chancellor's chief of staff coordinates the internal communication, workflow and project management for the Office of the Chancellor, and meets the logistical needs for the chancellor's cabinet and the Chancellor's Executive Committee. Mary Jo "Joey" White is retiring after more than 28 years of service. She served five CU-Boulder chancellors: Peterson, Phil DiStefano, Richard Byyny, Roderick Park and James Corbridge.
Asia Day, March 8
The Center for Asian Studies is hosting the seventh annual Asia Day on March 8 in Eaton Humanities, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Experience music and dance from different Asian countries, learn about Asian languages, see, hear and participate in demonstrations of Asian arts and cultures and listen to fascinating talks on issues from across Asia. Door prizes and samples of Asian foods will be given out. For more information see the website.
Bulk Mail decommissioning
Effective March 31, 2008, the bulk mail processing function within Mailing Services will be eliminated. The Bulk Mail staff is working directly with customers to assist in the transition to using external vendors.
