Who keeps our university in top shape? It's the People Behind the Scenes! Meet Lynda Reisinger, an accountant in the office of Accounting and Business support.
What is one thing you would like people to know about the work you do?
I provide help, including training assistance, to our campus users, and explanations of how our accounting system functions as well as the services we in Accounting and Business Support provide. Whether it is information related to our former FRS system or to our current PeopleSoft system, I enjoy the satisfaction of contributing to our campus and making a difference by using a positive team attitude to help others accomplish their work goals.
What do you like best about being a part of the CU community?
I've always enjoyed being a part of an educational environment where you are not only exposed to the cultural benefits of such close proximity to talented and varied professionals, but also enjoy the involvement of observing the education of some of our brightest youth and future leaders. I have always found a preference for working in higher ed - first at my beloved University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill (in my home state), then at the University of Northern Iowa, in Cedar Falls (my husband's home state), and the last 29 years here at CU. I find living in a university community is a privilege and an education.
What is your favorite activity/interest outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with, and helping, my family and friends, hiking, homemaking, crafts and a bit of traveling as time permits. I'm also known to enjoy basketball, baseball and, yes, of course, football! I am also a strong supporter of our troops and of all veterans – being a Vietnam-era wife.
