Who keeps our university in top shape? It's the People Behind the Scenes! Meet Ed Dloughy, Mike Owen, Nick Oransky, Dino Sposato, Joe Arnone, Kit Powell, Shawn Devian, Joe Ashley and Tony Sposato, the crew responsible for design and renovation in Housing and Dining Services.

What is the one thing you would like people to know about the work you do?

We are an in-house construction crew building and renovating, for the most part. Residence hall housing projects include bathrooms, live-in hall director apartments, kitchenettes and many other projects that are too numerous to mention. All members of the crew contribute individual skills nurtured by many years of experience in the private sector. With many skilled craftsmen on our team, we strive for a quality product as well as creating a pleasant environment for first year students to take ownership in the residence halls. Bathrooms are renovated year round, which creates unique responsibilities for all crew members to be as minimally disruptive as possible. General consensus is that the finished product is worth the wait.

What do you like best about being part of the CU community?

Being able to better ourselves with continuing education, numerous training opportunities, being part of such a diverse population and hearing the positive reactions from everyone when we finish a product is very rewarding.

What is your favorite activity/interest outside of work?

Our interests vary from all outdoor activities: climbing, hiking, hunting, fishing, boarding, biking, boating; to being with family; being a "soccer dad;" basketball; volleyball; being in a blues band; and working out.
