UMC Addition Receives Green Building Recognition
The UMC has received a Silver LEED rating on its 50,700 square foot building addition, the first CU building to receive this honor. The Environmental Center played a role in helping to accomplish the certification. A plaque placement ceremony will be held in late summer. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard created by the U.S. Green Building Council for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings.
