John Hall Celebration March 17
A campus celebration in honor of John Hall, co-winner of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Physics, will be held Friday, March 17 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. Polly McLean Selected For International Conference
Polly McLean, director of Women"s Studies and associate professor at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, has been selected as CU-Boulder's sole representative at a conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, regarding incorporating African perspectives into the American post-secondary curriculum. From March 19-26, McLean will join 15 other members from American universities at the conference, which includes workshops and site visits. The program is sponsored by the School for International Training and the CU-Boulder Office of International Education.
Housing Community Brick Builder Award Winners
The Housing & Dining Services Grounds and Landscaping crew will receive a Building Community Brick Award for their extensive contributions to improving outside space for students, faculty and staff to gather. During 2005 they installed a record number of picnic benches, outside seating, improved landscaping and outdoor amenities. They also provided easy to access waste receptacles, beautiful flower gardens and new trees.
