Pielke Receives Eduard Bruckner Prize
Roger A. Pielke Jr., environmental studies professor and founding director of CU's Center for Science and Technology Policy Research, received the Eduard Bruckner Prize Oct. 9 at the German Climate Conference in Munich, Germany. Pielke and his colleagues in collaborating institutions globally have spent the last five years researching how to depoliticize the issue of climate changes. The Eduard Bruckner Prize was created to recognize the importance of dialogue between climate research and social and cultural sciences. Pielke is the third recipient.
Fall Convocation Awards and Events
Please join us for a new celebration of CU-Boulder's outstanding students and faculty Friday, Oct. 13 at the inaugural Fall Convocation: A Celebration of Faculty and Student Achievement and Promise, held in conjunction with this year's Family Weekend. There will be events celebrating recent Hazel Barnes Prize winner Alexander Cruz of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, newly tenured faculty and distinguished professors, a fall convocation awards ceremony and a reception. Department of Human Resources Excellence 2006 Awardees
The Human Resources Department has announced its 2006 awardees for excellence in performance and services. Individual and group awards are given out in eight categories: Excellence in Customer Service, New Ideas and Technology, Tao Award, Building Community and Respecting Diversity, Teamwork and Cooperation, Internal Spirit/Bright Outlook and the Pioneer Award.
