Boulder Campus Staff Council has a full schedule of events planned for the spring semester. Community members are welcome and encouraged to join activities and attend regular meetings held the first Wednesday of each month, 12:15 to 2 p.m. Meeting agenda and locations are available on the Staff Council web site. Here's a preview of upcoming events:

• Chancellor Phil DiStefano will speak at the Feb. 1 meeting, 12:30-1 p.m. in UMC Room 247. Various issues of importance to staff will be discussed.

• The elections committee recently sent out nomination forms to fill current vacancies around campus. Forms are due back Tuesday, Jan. 31. Ballots will be mailed Feb. 21 and are due March 8. There are nine vacancies and five current members up for reelection.

• In partnership with UCSU and Bonfils Blood Center, the Boulder Staff Council is hosting a blood drive Monday, Feb. 13 through Thursday, Feb. 16 in UMC Room 235. Call Bonfils Blood Center at (303) 363-2300 to schedule a donation appointment.

• Our Legislative Affairs Committee will be watching issues that may concern PERA and the allocation of monies from Referendum C. • The events committee will host the annual Spring Staff Luncheon, "Spring Time in the Rockies," Thursday, March 23, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. One of the door prizes is a "Millionaire for a Day" drawing. The winner will receive one day's interest on one million dollars. The drawing is sponsored by the University of Colorado Federal Credit Union. The Outreach Committee will be collecting toiletry items to donate to the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless and the Women's Shelter.
