FROM THE CHANCELLOR GOLDEN Ticket to CU's Future In the spirit of continuing campus discourse on current topics, I thought you would be interested in the following message from the UCSU Tri-Executives on "GOLDEN Ticket to CU's Future. More >> AWARDS AND KUDOS Employees Awarded for Safe Work During a recent Facilities Management safety planning retreat, shop staff received an award for 1,000 days of accident-free work. Paul Talbot presented a plaque to the nine employees of the sheet metal, roofing and welding shop and the eight fire supervision and elevator shop employees during the retreat luncheon, held July 14 at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. Record Breaking Ticket Sales The CU athletic ticket office recently set a new record, selling 6,468 single game football tickets on the first day of sales. In the first 16 days, more than 33,000 single game tickets were sold for the upcoming football season. For more information about the CU Buffaloes please visit http://CUBuffs.com. Civic Engagement Institute Now Official The proposed CU-Boulder Institute for Ethical and Civic Engagement was granted institute status on Aug. 4. In development for the past year, the institute will assist current and new programs in making ethical and civic engagement a defining characteristic of our educational community. The School of Journalism and Mass Communication is developing the institute's first pilot program. Funding has also been provided to a variety of faculty across campus for new and revised course development involving ethical and civic engagement and guest speakers will visit the campus this fall.
