IN THE SPOTLIGHT In the Spotlight with Deborah Coffin, Director, Department of Housing
The architectural beauty of the Boulder campus is world renowned and our buildings often are viewed as the face of the university. In this series, "In the Spotlight," we ask CU-Boulder building directors to give us a behind-the-scenes look at the facilities and programs they manage - along with a glimpse into their personalities. Part three of this series features Deb Coffin, executive director, Housing and Dining Services. What is one thing you would like people to know about your buildings or your job? The greatest rewards I find are in working with students and their parents, particularly freshmen. First year students have such motivation and energy, and jump into college with gusto and a bit of hesitation. It is energizing to learn about their experiences, help them navigate campus life, watch them make life long friends and grow into incredible young adults. If I didn't get to 'hang out' with students, my job would be less fulfilling. If you could wake up tomorrow in your own home, but in another place anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be? That's a tough question because I have so many places I love and would enjoy living. But my heart is in the west...so I would have to say on the shore of Whitefish Lake, Montana! The skies of Montana are breathtaking and I do love the cooler climate, crisp air and open spaces. | In the Spotlight with Deborah Coffin, Director, Department of Housing Walking the Last Mile Faculty Research Associates Play Key Role Family Weekend – A Refreshing Experience
