IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Welcome to "Inside CU"
By Linda Besen, University Communications

In his March 29 speech at the Coors Events Center, Nobel Peace Prize recipient Desmond Tutu stressed the vital importance of community, saying "When we are a family, we are a family in which there are no outsiders—in which we are all insiders."

In order to realize a sense of community in a population the size of the faculty and staff of CU-Boulder, we need to know relevant information about each other. We need to celebrate individual achievements, keep abreast of campus developments, and understand campus priorities.

With this goal in mind, we in University Communications give you the inaugural issue of a brief electronic newsletter specifically written to share information relevant to the faculty and staff of the Boulder campus. The newsletter will be sent to you bi-weekly at your CU e-mail address.

Topics of interest were determined by a survey of faculty and staff conducted last fall. Respondents wanted articles about campus issues and initiatives, news of individual faculty and staff, and coverage of campus awards and accomplishments. We will provide this information as well as other features of interest to the campus community.

Please take a few minutes to browse through "Inside CU" to learn more about this unique community of which you are a part.
