Merit Increase Cycle (October-September)

Boulder Campus Research Faculty employees’ merit increases are effective October 1st, contingent upon a merit evaluation being processed and verification that the Discrimination and Harassment Training is complete and up-to-date, and the guidelines established by the University are followed.

Rosters are disseminated to the hiring units by the end of May each year, along with the guidelines and instructions to be followed for the process, in addition to sample evaluation forms which are to be used in the evaluation process.

The proposed merit roster and summary evaluation forms for each employee in a respective unit must be submitted on or before the third Monday in July each year to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, in order to be included in the merit increase cycle.

Research Faculty employees are only eligible for one merit-based increase each year.

“Self-evaluation” form: Most units have developed an “internal evaluation document” which includes (1) yearly accomplishments, (2) goals for the next review cycle, (3) optional comments sections for both the employee and the supervisor, and (4) signature lines for both the employee and supervisor.  Sample forms which can be used in this process:

The Research Faculty Summary Evaluation form must be submitted for every research faculty employee, signed by the supervisor and the employee.

The 2016-2017 Research Faculty (Delegated Titles) Merit Increase (10/1/16-9/30/17) cycle Instruction Memo, Justification Spreadsheet, Spreadsheet Instruction Information, and merit roster will be mailed via electronic mail to the respective Department and key Business Partner/Payroll/Personnel Liaison on or before May 24, 2016.
