Text Scanning
Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
Just discovered the computer and have a ton of publications you want
on it? Or just lost your file accidentally, can't retrieve it, and all you
have is this hardcopy rough draft? Or just want to edit an old résumé?
How about just wanting to archive a bunch of documents to your computer?
Well, we may be able to help you!
OCR scanning transfers hardcopy text to electronic form for you to edit.
Text scanning takes two or more days depending on the length and difficulty
of the document (tables, etc.), and upon the OCR traffic at the time. Along
with the document, please bring a formatted, blank 3.5" diskette (optional),
and a copyright waiver (where applicable).
If you have books that don't need editing or photos you want scanned,
then Printing Services
can help you. Call Al Goranson at 492-1400.
Location: Norlin Library E203, from 8-4:30, Monday
through Friday.
