Evening Classes for the Boulder Community
The International English Center at the University of Colorado at Boulder offers courses in English as a Second Language (ESL) to Boulder residents and visitors. Students should have at least a high school education. Evening classes are integrated skills classes so that students can improve in all skill areas.
Classes meet at 1030 13th Street, on "The Hill" in Boulder.Monday / Wednesday Classes - 6:30 - 8:30 P.M.
Tuition:
$355, materials included - Half-semester
$675, materials included - Full-semester
Beginning Level (NCIE 6100)
for students who:
- speak in simple sentences
- have a limited vocabulary
- understand some (not necessarily all) of what is said
- are familiar with the present tense (but may have some difficulty with other tenses)
for students who:
- have more than a basic vocabulary
- understand much of what is said
- can use basic verb tenses effectively
- can read a variety of materials, but experience some difficulty
- need guidance in writing
for students who:
- have an extended vocabulary
- understand most verb tenses effectively
- read a variety of materials with little difficulty
- write effectively with little guidance
- have a desire to polish their skills
Tuesday / Thursday Classes - 6:30 - 8:30 P.M.
American English Pronunciation and Speakingfor students who:
- Want to improve your conversation and public speaking skills
- Want to improve your American English Sounds, intonation, and stress patterns
QUALIFIED, EXPERIENCED INSTRUCTORS
Teachers have an M.A. in ESL or the equivalent.
PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

Courses are non-credit and designed to help students understand and communicate better in English.
