Dr. Börzel and Dr. Risse of Frie University in Berlin
Oct. 22, 2011
Round table discussion on the future of the EU and its institutions in light of the financial crisis. Hosted by Dr. Joseph Jupille. There is a lot of talk about the need for institutional reform and the whole debate about the finality politique of the EU re-emerged. While most seem to agree that we need a centralization of fiscal policy, the institutional design is totally contested. We do not have a paper that addresses this current issue, but what you could do is circulate a contribution for the EUSA Newsletter and/or my JCMS piece on governance in the EU, which could serve as a basis for a discussion on the future institutional design of the EU.
