Frequently requested data sets are sometimes purchased for IBS use. Some of these CDs are available to use only in the CRS Lab. Others can be checked out. For information about using these data, contact Jani Little.

The National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health is available for IBS use, but for security reasons users have to go through an approval process. Click here for more information on ADD Health Study.

Population Resources and Environment Development Databank (PRED). This CD can be checked out. It brings together data series dealing with various aspects of population, labour force, education, economic and social development, land, water and energy use. There are 131 variables on the CD including regional, sub-regional and national data, over time, for 228 countries and regions. Click here for more information on PRED.

Demographic Yearbook, 1948-1997. This CD can be checked out. It is compilation of international demographic statistics for all countries and areas of the world.

GeoLytics CDs for Geographic Analysis of US Census Data. These CDs are available to use in the CRS Computer Lab. They come with built-in data reporting and exporting capabilities as well as thematically shaded, color-mapping capabilities. With a few quick keystrokes you can generate full-blown maps or tables. You can use them as input files for other programs e.g. statistical (SAS, SPSS), spreadsheet (Excel, 1-2-3), and mapping (Arc View, MapInfo). CensusCD 2000 Long Form SF3. This data set contains variables such as income, housing, employment, language spoken, ancestry, education, poverty, rent, mortgage, commute to work, etc down to the block group level. There are over 10,000 more variables at the larger geographies such as tract, zip code, county and state level. For a complete list of variables, click here.

CensusCD Neighborhood Change Database (NCDB) 1970-2000 Tract Data. (NCDB) allows access to US Census data from 1970, 1980, 1990 and 2000 at the census tract level. It is the only source of census data with variables and tract boundaries that are consistently defined across census years.

CensusCD 1990+Maps. This CD has demographic information down to the block group level from the US 1990 Census (STF3 A,B,C and D).

CensusCD 1980. This CD has the complete 1980 Census data down to the block group level.
