Research Interests:
I am primarily interested in the intrinsic mechanisms of synaptic plasticity underlying reward-related behaviors, such as psychostimulant addiction. I am also interested in studying the comorbidity between stress and substance abuse at the molecular, cellular, systems, and behavioral level, as well as the neural mechanisms underlying stress resilience. I plan to use optogenetic interrogation coupled with in vivo electrophysiological recordings to study these specific behavioral phenomena.
