Join us in celebrating the start of the academic year, and welcome our new faculty members (Dr. Naomi Friedman and Dr. Charles Hoeffer), postdocs, and graduate students, by participating in our Annual IBG Orientation and Poster Day Event. As in past years, this will be an opportunity for IBGers to get together for an afternoon of stimulating conversation and to introduce our newest members to the exciting research conducted at IBG.
This year our Poster Day Celebration will be held on Friday, August 23rd, from 3:00-5:00 p.m., in the second floor interaction space/Journal Club area. I hope you’ll be willing to participate by bringing posters (videos and slide shows are also welcome) that you, or members of your lab, have put together or presented at meetings during the past year. The posters can be mounted late Thursday afternoon, or between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Friday, the 23rd. As usual, we will provide pins and other mounting supplies. If you are bringing a video or a slide show, we can assist you with the setup, if you need it. The poster session will be an informal gathering with no set time for manning the posters. The authors are free to choose their own time to man the poster, or be generally available to answer questions. Refreshments will be served during the session.
This year, Nassim Zanganeh will be assisting with the coordination of this event. For planning purposes, please let her know as soon as possible how many posters you or your group would like to display. Nassim can be reached at extension 2-6057 (303-492-6057 for those of you in Denver), or at Nassim.Zanganeh@Colorado.edu. We always have plenty of poster boards (as well as other places to set up visual media) so you’re welcome to bring as many as you want.
We look forward to seeing you on the 23rd! And many thanks to all of you for bringing your posters and making this a fun way to launch the start of the new academic year.
