Officer and Exempt Professional Performance Management

2007-2008 Boulder Campus Performance Management Deadlines, Information and Forms

Performance management is extremely important in managing a successful workforce, and an employee's performance evaluation and rating is the basis for merit-based salary increases.

Accordingly, this year performance evaluations as well as performance ratings will be required for all officers and exempt professionals. Both of these forms must be completed and submitted to the Department of Human Resources' Office of Labor Relations (OLR), 565 UCB, by June 15, 2008.

Departments should check with their Vice Chancellors to determine their division's deadline for completing evaluations since this date may be earlier than the Department of Human Resources' June 15th deadline.

It is extremely important that performance evaluations be completed and submitted to Human Resources by this deadline, as Vice Chancellors may withhold merit-based increases from supervisors that do not complete performance evaluations for their staff.

The rating form that must be used for Officers and Professional Exempts can be found at: http://www.colorado.edu/humres/downloads/OEPRating.doc.

Some departments have created their own evaluation form but for those that have not, a template evaluation form can be found at: http://www.colorado.edu/humres/downloads/OEPPlanAndEval.doc. Departments are free to modify this form as they see fit.

If you have any questions about the Officer and Professional Exempt performance management process, please contact the OLR at 303-492-0956, located at 3100 Marine Street, Third Floor, 565 UCB.
