Mission: The University of Colorado Children's Center is a non-profit organization that provides childcare for children and families residing in the Family Housing apartments, children of staff, faculty, and students attending the University of Colorado at Boulder. The center is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs and licensed by the Colorado Department of Social Services. The program serves 118 children ages 15 months (walking independently) through 5 years.
Location: The Children’s Center is located near the Newton Court Family Housing apartments at 2202 Arapahoe.
Eligibility: Children of University faculty, staff, and students. Priority is given to families residing in Family Housing. Children are accepted on a space available basis. A child may be enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis, as space is available. Pre-registration, held three weeks before the end of the semester, allows current center clients to register for the following semester. If your child is not enrolled for the summer session, you must call us early in August to reserve a space. (Please note: At the time of printing, there was a waiting list for Toddler classes. Contact the Children’s Center Office to check the status of any waiting lists.)

Mission:
- To provide a nurturing, high quality, developmentally appropriate program that will increase physical, emotional, intellectual, communicative, and social competence in young children;
- To integrate children with disabilities and/or language delays into an early childhood setting with typically developing peers;
- To support families’ involvement in their child’s learning;
- To create an early childhood practicum experience for graduate and undergraduate speech pathologists, audiologists, and other professionals in training; and
- Serve as a valuable resource for research, observation, and community outreach.
Location: Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences Building, Room 101
Eligibility: Young children between the ages of 12 months to six years. Enrollment openings depend upon factors that include the current needs of the classroom to meet the ratio of (a) children with disabilities and children who are typically developing, (b) the number of boys and girls, and (c) the ages of children currently enrolled.
Schedule: The Toddler Group meets on Tuesday and Thursday, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am (for children 18-36 months of age). The Preschool meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:45 am - 12:00 pm (for children three to six years old).
The activities in the program are on a continuum and a child's daily participation enhances his/her total learning experience. Therefore, we require that children be enrolled for all of the days that their group is in session.
The summer programs for the CLC are dependent upon the practicum needs of the graduate students, the training needs of the department, the families’ ability to attend during the designated times, and the financial resources of the program.
