The Honors Residential Academic Program (Honors RAP) is open to all honors-qualified students (academic top 10% of incoming class; 3.3 GPA for continuing students). Please note, only honors qualified students are assigned for housing in Smith Hall.
Incoming 1st-year honors-qualified students with majors in the College of Arts & Sciences receive a Welcome Letter from the Honors Program inviting them to participate in the Honors Program. Interested students in other colleges are welcome and require a personal review from the Honors Program (firstname.lastname@example.org). Being in the Honors Program qualifies you to join the Honors RAP; a separate Honors RAP qualification is not required.
Honors students are not guaranteed a spot in the Honors RAP Smith Hall. Housing applications and assignments are a product of the Housing Office. Applications are processed first-come, first served based on the date of the completed Housing application.
It is strongly recommended those incoming first-year students (and their parents) who are interested in the Honors RAP read Honors RAP FAQs and Honors Program FAQs. It’s a great primer on how to get involved.
Once you confirm your attendance to CU Boulder, students must complete their online Housing application (which requires a $300 non-refundable deposit, subject to change) and identify the Honors RAP as your first choice of community and Smith Hall as your first choice of Halls as early as possible to ensure your best chance for being assigned to be part of our community. Admission to the program is determined by the receipt date of the housing application. Housing applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis and spaces fill quickly, initially as early as mid-March.
Congratulations on your academic achievement and we look forward to seeing you in the Fall!
