I learned how to draw by drawing horses. When I was little I wanted a horse so very badly (and still do, actually), so I made my own equine companions, and in the process continually improved my artistic skills. Years later, I still enjoy featuring horses in my work. This piece is about a moment of solitude, of reflection, and the capturing of calm, silent beauty. I am always one to focus on details, however subtle they may be, and here I savored the vast range of blues and grays, combining and layering them to create texture and interest.
