Position Descriptions

The managing editor administers all aspects of the Honors Journal’s production. S/he monitors and facilitates solicitations of manuscripts, selection of work, formatting, production and distribution. The managing editor informs and works with the faculty mentor for the Honors Journal in consultation with the Honors Program Director.

The fiction editor helps to solicit outstanding undergraduate fiction, selects fiction for inclusion in the Honors Journal, assists the managing editor where necessary, and works with other members of the Honors Journal board to design and distribute the Honors Journal.

The poetry editor helps to solicit outstanding undergraduate poetry, selects poetry for inclusion in the Honors Journal, assists the managing editor where necessary, and works with other members of the Honors Journal board to design and distribute the Honors Journal.

The social sciences editor helps to solicit outstanding undergraduate essays in the social sciences, selects social science essays for inclusion in the Honors Journal, assists the managing editor where necessary, and works with the other members of the Honors Journal editorial board to design and distribute the Honors Journal.

The natural science editor helps to solicit outstanding undergraduate essays in the natural sciences, selects natural science essays for inclusion in the Honors Journal, assists the managing editor where necessary, and works with the other members of the Honors Journal editorial board to design and distribute the Honors Journal.

The humanities editor helps to solicit outstanding undergraduate essays in the humanities, selects humanities essays for inclusion in the Honors Journal, assists the managing editor where necessary, and works with the other members of the Honors Journal editorial board to design and to distribute the Honors Journal.

The art editor helps to solicit outstanding undergraduate art work for inclusion in the Honors Journal, assists the managing editor with layout and design and other duties where needed, works with other members of the Honors Journal Board to distribute the Honors Journal.

The publicity manager organizes and designs advertisements to solicit manuscripts, manages publicity for the Honors Journal and works with other members of the board to distribute the Honors Journal.
