Admission and Eligibility
Whether you are an incoming first-year student, a transfer student or a continuing student at the University of Colorado Boulder, there is no formal application process for the Honors Program.
Incoming First-year Students: We strongly recommend that all incoming first-year students and their parents who are interested in the Honors Program read our Admissions FAQ. We've crafted it based on the questions we're asked every year and it's a great primer on how to get involved with us and what exactly that $200 confirmation fee is for. |
Transfer Students: As a transfer student, your eligibility for your first semester at CU-Boulder
is based on a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 from the school you
last attended. Transfer students are not automatically sent invitations so be
sure to contact the Honors Program Office after you have met with your advisor during orientation if you'd like to enroll in an Honors course. Once you are a continuing student you must maintain a 3.3 CU GPA.
Continuing Students: Continuing students do not need to be invited to the Honors Program. Any undergraduate student in any school or college
at the University of Colorado Boulder with a cumulative CU-Boulder GPA of 3.3 or greater may register themselves for one Honors
course each semester. Note that receiving a first-year student invitation from the Honors Program is not a guarantee
of eligibility after the first year, and you must maintain a 3.3 CU-Boulder GPA
to continue taking Honors courses. |
