DO NOT phone or email to make an advising appointment, currently enrolled students must use the online appointment system. If there are no open appointments showing on the system, check back later in the afternoon to see if the next day's appointments have been opened up.

No walk-in hours October 9th, October 23rd and the week of Thanksgiving

Majors: Walk-in hours are for quick questions only and are limited to five minutes. History majors may NOT pick up graduation packets during walk-in hours. You MUST make an appointment with your advisor to talk specifically about graduation.

Minors: Because you cannot make an appointment with a HIST advisor, please use walk-in hours to declare the minor, for general questions about the minor, and to pick up your Minor Completion Form for graduation.

To declare History as your major or as an additional major:

You must first attend a prospective major meeting. These are held in Hellems 220 and you must register for a meeting before attending (see instructions below on how to register for a meeting). Note: Prospective major meetings are not held during Summer Terms.

Instructions on how to make an appointment with a History advisor in order to change your major, add History as a second or third major:

Log in with your ID and PIN at https://aac.colorado.edu
Once logged in, click on the “Appointment to add/change a major/minor” button.
On the next page choose History from the pull down menu. This will take you to the schedule of major declaration meetings for History.
Click the radio button next to the appointment or major meeting time slot to sign up.

To declare a History minor

You must see either one of the History advisors during their walk-in hours. (See above for times)

If you are already a History major and wish to sign up for an appointment to add/change a major/minor in a different department, be sure to check the declaration procedure for that the department, as they are all different. You can check on the procedure by choosing the department from the pull down menu on the following web page: http://www.colorado.edu/aac/maj.html
