Internship Program

How about some work experience to go with that History degree? Surveys of employers have revealed that liberal arts majors with intern credits do very well in the job market. The Department of History offers internship opportunities geared for juniors and seniors. The following have employed our students:

  • Historic Denver (restoration)
  • National Park Service (historical office)
  • Radio Reading Service of the Rockies (broadcasts for the blind)
  • Colorado Historical Society (archives and exhibitions)
  • Western Historical Archives, CU (archives)
  • Smithsonian Institution
  • Colorado Governor's Office (policy, press, legislative agenda)

The possibilities are endless! The university has hundreds of internship positions on file with local, state, and national agencies. The internship provides you with flexible work hours and a new way to apply your history background. Most interns choose positions in the CU/Denver area, but any location is possible. Many of our graduates have gained employment from their experience. Broaden your history horizons!
