Fall Semester: 2009

Oct. 2
Deadline for students who have three or more final exams on the same day for fall semester to make arrangements to change their final exam schedule.
Oct. 7
Deadline (5:00 p.m.) for non-A&S Only students to drop a course without petitioning the dean’s office.

Spring 2010 course listings available on the Web (tentative date).
Oct 19
CUSAMS (CU Students Against Modern-Day Slavery) is partnering with Not For Sale (notforsalecampaign.org) to present the Backyard Abolitionist Tour, featuring NFS President/human trafficking expert David Batstone and critically acclaimed musician Brant Christopher! Monday, October 19, 7pm in CHEM 140 Admission is free.
Oct. 26 – Nov. 29
Spring 2010 registration period for continuing degree students enrolled during fall 2009.
Oct. 30
Deadline for A&S and nondegree students to drop a course without approval signatures.
Nov 9
21st Athearn Lecture, 7:00 pm in the Eaton Humanities Building, Room 150.Monday, November 9, 2009, at 7:00 pm in Eaton Humanities room 150. The speaker will be Dr. Char Miller, Director of the Environmental Analysis program and W. M. Keck Professor of Environmental Analysis at Pomona College in Claremont, California, and an Organization of American Historians Distinguished Lecturer. The talk title is "Streetscape Environmentalism: Flood Control, Social Justice, and Political Power in San Antonio, 1921-1978."   Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
Nov. 23-25
Fall Break.  No classes.  University remains open.
Nov. 26-27
Thanksgiving holiday.  No classes.  University campus closed.
Dec. 11
Last day of classes for fall 2009.
Dec. 12-17
Final exams for Fall 2009.  (There are no exams on Sunday, December 13) (See Calendars and Schedules for full Finals information) 
Dec. 18
Fall 2009 commencement, Coors Events/Conference Center, 9:30 a.m. The History Department does not hold a separate Fall ceremony. Fall 2009 graduates may attend our Spring 2010 commencement.

Spring 2010 classes begin.
Jan. 18
Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.  No classes.  University campus closed.
Mar. 22-26
Spring break.  No classes.  University campus closed on Friday only.
Apr. 30
Last day of classes for spring 2010.
May 1-6

Spring 2010 History Department Commencement, Mary Rippon Outdoor Amphitheatre, 5:00 pm. More details forthcoming.
