His 2007 articles in &lt;a href="http://www.historycooperative.org/journals/ahr/112.1/delay.html"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;The&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.historycooperative.org/journals/ahr/112.1/delay.html"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;font-size:100%;" &gt;American Historical Review&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt; and &lt;a href="http://muse.jhu.edu/journals/journal_of_the_early_republic/v027/27.1delay.html"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;The Journal of the Early Republic&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt; have won awards from the Western History Association, the Conference on Latin American History, the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations, and &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;the American Society for Ethnohistory. His book &lt;a href="http://yalepress.yale.edu/yupbooks/book.asp?isbn=9780300119329"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;War of a Thousand Deserts&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt; was published by Yale in 2008, and he is co-author of the U.S. history textbooks &lt;a href="http://www.amazon.com/Nation-Nations-Narrative-American-Republic/dp/0073406848/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;amp;s=books&amp;amp;qid=1219724194&amp;amp;sr=1-1"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Nation of Nations&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://www.amazon.com/US-Narrative-History-1-1877/dp/0073385468/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&amp;amp;s=books&amp;amp;qid=1226955266&amp;amp;sr=1-4"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;U.S./A Narrative History&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt; (McGraw-Hill). He has been appointed a Distinguished Lecturer for the Organization of American Historians for 2008-2011, and is now at work on a book manuscript entitled "Shoot the State: Arms Traders, Indians, and the Struggle for the Americas, 1780-1910."
