HIST 4339

Primary Source Analysis Guidelines

Primary source analyses are due at the beginning of class on Monday, March 7.  Identify a source you will use in your final paper.  This source may be textual, visual (e.g. a map), or even aural (e.g. a national anthem).

Provide a full citation, properly formatted.  You are responsible for looking up the proper citation in the Chicago Manual of Style.

Briefly describe your source (one paragraph should suffice).

Finally, provide a preliminary discussion of your source’s relevance to the question(s) outlined in your paper proposal (or questions you’ve subsequently developed).

Your assignment must be at least two pages, double spaced.
