Emily McCort

Education
Dr. McCort is a board-certified Psychiatrist with 20 years of experience in psychiatry. She received her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and completed her Psychiatric training at the University of Colorado Health Science Center.  Prior to starting at Wardenburg in 2009, Dr. McCort worked at CU as the Associate Director of Medical Student Education before leaving to work in the public sector.  

Working for a private non-profit for over a decade, Dr. McCort devoted her time to helping patients with serious and persistent mental illness as well as substance use disorders.  After seeing people who have lived with mental illness and addictions most of their lives, she was drawn to student health for the opportunity to work with young adults towards primary and secondary prevention of sleep, substance use and mental health disorders.

Areas of Interest: Sleep Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, and working with Deaf and hard of hearing individuals.
