Summer Enrollment
New summer students are not automatically enrolled in the insurance. You need to enroll and pay at the Student Health Plans Office by the semester deadline.
Late Enrollment
Eligible students will not be allowed to enroll in a plan after the applicable enrollment period, with one exception. If you have been involuntarily terminated by another group insurance plan you may purchase the student insurance, provided you furnish proof that you became involuntarily terminated by another insurance company during the 30 days immediately preceding. In such cases, the cost will be the same as it would have been at the beginning of the coverage period, but the effective date will be the date you enroll in the plan and make the required payment.
Changing Your Coverage
The plan you select for the fall semester will automatically extend to the spring/summer semesters unless it is actively changed. You may change your coverage for the spring/summer semesters by going to CUConnect or submitting a selection/waiver form during the spring/summer enrollment period.
Exceptions to Automatic Enrollment
Enrollment is not automatic for the following:
- ACCESS
- Continuing Education
- Time Out Program
- Study Abroad (includes Semester at Sea)
- Evening MBA program students
- New summer students
- Spouse / Same Gender Domestic Partner (SGDP) and Dependents
Students who are not automatically enrolled must come to the Student Health plans office to sign up. You will be asked to pay the insurance premium and any applicable user fees.
