Provost’s Fellow in the Libraries
Provost's Fellows in Libraries | Provost's Fellows for Technology
The Graduate Teacher Program/COPFFN, in collaboration with UCB Library faculty, is offering several outstanding UCB graduate students the chance to be a Provost’s Fellow for the Libraries. The Provost’s Fellowships for the Libraries introduce participants to careers in academic librarianship. They illustrate the benefits of combining a subject master’s degree with a master’s degree in library science, resulting in a challenging and rewarding career filled with mobility and advancement potential. The need for academic librarians with subject, language and technical specialties is increasing dramatically as the volume of information available continues to grow and access to quality information becomes more difficult. The Provost’s Fellows for the Libraries will be provided the opportunity to work in depth with a library faculty mentor and to expand their understanding and appreciation of library faculty careers in postsecondary institutions over the course of an academic semester or year (9 months). In return, Fellows receive a Fellowship for $2500.
