The Rush Process
Rush meetings and/or events are held for the sisters to meet you and vice versa; this is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to see what our organization is all about. When rushing for the Phi Charter of Sigma Psi Zeta here at the University of Colorado at Boulder, we require you to attend (at minimum) ONE General Informational Meeting (GIM) and THREE events during a rush period to be invited back for an interview with us.
By attending Rush, we are able to determine whether or not you will receive a Bid, which is a formal invitation for an interested party to accept membership into the Pledging Program. That is, if and when you receive a bid, you are being invited to pledge for Sigma Psi Zeta. You will then contact the Pledge Educator with your response. Once you have accepted your Bid, you will soon begin pledging thereafter. Please do not hesitate at anytime during this period to approach any of the sisters with questions you may have. Questions and comments are welcome and encouraged at all times.
The Pledging Process
Pledging is a mission to achieve sisterhood with the sisters of Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority. It is a process that bonds a pledge class and unites the class with the sisters. It brings forth knowledge, awareness and discipline, providing invaluable experiences for you and your pledge class.
Pledging requires a great deal of time, effort, and commitment, and should not be taken lightly. We expect nothing less that dedication and sacrifice from you, and in turn, we will share with you our knowledge, dedication, time, and experience.
Ultimately the concepts of unity, trust, and sisterhood will become a part of you when you have successfully completed the pledging process. Upon completion of this program, you will be invited to join us in sisterhood and will share a permanent place in our hearts.
