Recruitment Counselors, or Rho Gammas, play a key role in the Formal Recruitment process. These sorority women are selected by an extensive and competitive application and interview process conducted by the Panhellenic Executive Board.
Rho Gammas disaffiliate from their respective sororities in order to facilitate the recruitment process for potential new members (PNMs) and provide them with an unbiased experience. They go through an extensive educational training on the nine Panhellenic sororities (including history, insignia, songs, traditions, and ideals) which gives them an equal knowledge of all the chapters and a neutral and informed perspective for all PNMs.
During the week of Formal Recruitment, Rho Gammas will have a group of 30 to 40 PNMs to guide through the process. Each Rho Gamma group will have two Rho Gamma leaders who will explain the process of PNMs, help them reach difficult decisions, and be their confidential soundboard. The Rho Gammas as well as the Panhellenic Executive Board's sorority affiliation will be concealed to all until revealed to the PNMs on Bid Day when they re-affiliate with their chapters.
The Rho Gammas and Panhellenic will be working hard all summer to plan a fun-filled week for you during Recruitment. They are looking forward to meeting you!
