Russian Scholarships, Awards, Prizes and Honor Society

Dobro Slovo National Slavic Honor Society
Honor Society for Russian majors with a 3.5 GPA in Russian and an overall 3.0 GPA. Eligible students are initiated into Dobro Slovo as a graduating senior.


Elizabeth Shevchenko Wittenberg Prize
Wittenberg Prize is awarded to an outstanding graduating Russian major each spring. Prize is in memory of Elizabeth Shevchenko Wittenberg who received her MA in Slavic Languages from CU in 1964 and taught at CU for ten years, as well as being involved in Russian activities throughout the state, including the High School Olimpiada of Spoken Russian and Jefferson County’s weekend Russian immersion village “Sosnovka.”
