The virtual field trips should have all the "front matter" described in the module format guidelines (title page with abstract and table of
contents, module overview, information for instructors, facts of publication, etc). However, just as with the modules, once you get into the
actual "fieldtrip" part of the pages, you can structure them any way you want. We'll have a session during the workshops on how to format all
the introductory information.
your fieldtrip will be served from your home institution, unless you make other arrangements with Mike. What he will do as the working group
leader is make a link from the VFT home page (which he maintains at UWSP) to your pages. The fieldtrip will appear in the left (large) frame of
the VGD interface. However, if for some reason you need more screen space (for graphics, etc), you can load the pages in a separate browser
window, or a window without frames. You do not need to know how to make frames to load your files in the VGD framed pages, though. The
frames are maintained at UTexas - whatever pages are pointed to from within the leftmost frame appear in that frame, but the pages themselves
are not "framed". Did that make any sense at all?
