To increase student interaction, students could be required to read an article discussing concepts presented in lecture
and/or textbook and then post their evaluation of the reading for their classmates to consider.
Of course the more controversial the reading is, the more lively the feedback.
This might have the advantage of encouraging participation from students who are hesitant to speak in a classroom setting.
