Yes, I think the students have to have reasons to use the materials.

It isn't necessarily that they aren't interested, but these materials are new to them also.

They need reasons, exercises, and problems that keep them engaged with the materials.

I do test from Web modules from time to time, but that doesn't really do the trick in the way I would like.
