This semester I used the web in my course as a support to the lectures/workbook activities.
Students evaluated the site at the end of the semester and, of course, said the most valuable,
items were the notes, test questions/strategies, and instructions on how to do the activities. Least
useful? The personal information on me and the TA (good-- I don't want them to blackmail me or
anything) AND (suprising to me) the links to other sites with additional information regarding
the topics. Students don't surf--they want their web-site to "pay off" in some measureable way.
Comments? Reactions? I think this has design/content implications--only include what you will
assess/test/value.
