It seems to me that we should probably devote an entire thread of this discussion to MapObjects technology. It seems that this will really extend the interactive character of the Web considerably.

Conceivably we could do a lot of teaching and collaboration running map servers as part of the Virtual Department effort.

Materials could lead directly to examples and problems that students could use on-line.
