Introduction

The Worldwide Web is a valuable tool for researchers. However, it is important to develop techniques to utilize the full potential of the Internet. This case study examines the quantity and quality of information available on the Worldwide Web pertaining to Urban Transportation. It is not meant to be a report about Urban Transportation, but to serve as a guide for further Web research on this, and other, topics.

In this report I have selected a number of representative web sites from those that I initially found using web search engines. I then developed a set of criteria to analyze the web-based resources. I also examined the web sites according to their purposes and functions. Finally, I compared the Web resources with resources available through the UT general library.
