Lectures focus on the theoretical basis of GIS. During lab sessions students will be able to apply the concepts and techniques presented in lectures.  The aim of this course is that students understand elementary GIS theory, have a working knowledge of ArcGIS, and be able to develop GIS-based solutions for spatial problems.
