What is the GFDA list?
The GFDA list serves as a forum for discussion among early career
geography faculty and for sharing information and ideas.
For it to be effective, the list needs members to contribute relevant
messages to the list. So, if you are not already a member, please read on
and sign up. If you are already a member, please share your world with us.
What is the GFDA list for?
The list is open to anyone who wishes to help bring together
a cooperative community of geographers interested in the issues
of early career faculty. The exchange of information could include:
relevant meetings, conferences and job opportunities; article synopses,
book announcements and reviews; calls for papers; presentation of concise
essays; and relevant cross-postings from other lists.
How does a listserv work?
A listserv allows its members to send messages to all other
members of the list through a single email address. When you
type in the 'To' box of an outgoing email message, the computer that controls
the list will ensure that your message is sent to the list owner
(joni palmer) who will then post it to all members. Belonging to the listserve
also means that you, as a list member, receive all messages sent
to be posted to the list.
Because
this is a moderated listserve, Joni will screen out junk mail and
spam, you will only receive messages relating to the GFDA and information
that will be of interest to early career faculty.
How do I join?
To subscribe yourself to the GFDA list, address an email message to
listproc@lists.Colorado.EDU with these contents (the <>s just mean 'put your stuff here' so don't
include them):
subscribe geogfacultyalliance <your full name>
How do I post messages?
After you've subscribed to the listserv, you
may send messages to the list by emailing geogfacultyalliance@lists.Colorado.EDU.
The listmistress cannot change your message in any way, only accept or
reject it, so make sure your message is what you want to have sent
out.
How do I get off the list?
To unsubscribe from the list, send a message
to listproc@lists.Colorado.EDU with the following contents:
unsubscribe geogfacultyalliance
