Checklist for First Web

1) Page Elements (30%)
Three pages (minimum): 1) Homepage; 2) Favorite Web Links
page; 3) Page listing projects
Homepage should include:
- Your name
- Your email address with "mailto" hyperlink (email link)
- Page title in browser banner bar (document title)
- Biosketch that includes at least working 3 hyperlinks (You can
also create a separate Biosketch page if you want)
- One original photograph (including Alt Text label)
- One freeware graphic (background, button, photo, etc.)
- Working links to Favorites and Projects pages
- Date of last page revision and name (or initials) of person
making last revision
Favorites Page should include:
- Working link back to Homepage and to Projects
- Page title in banner bar
- List of at least 5 Web sites with working hyperlinks
- Date of last page revision and name (or initials) of person
making last revision
Projects Page should include:
- Working link back to Homepage and to Favorites
- Page title in banner bar
- Titles of the three projects you will create in Cartography 2
(you will create links as you complete your projects)
- Date of last page revision and name (or initials) of person
making last revision
2) PAGE LAYOUT (40%)
- Homepage is compact and fits on one screen (KESDA resolution)
without requiring scrolling
- Content of pages are arranged to match importance of information
to visual hierarchy of screen
- Colors, fonts and graphics are used for emphasis and in relation
to
importance of information
- Consistency of layout between three pages
- Use at least one table on one of your pages
3) FILE ORGANIZATION (30%)
- All links should work and photos should load properly
- "Favorites" and "Projects" files must be in their own
subfolders
- File names should be lowercase
- Avoid using blank spaces in file names
- File names should reflect content of file
