Using Anchors
What are anchors?
How to create them?
Tables
Let's look at an example.
Open Netscape, navigate to:
www.nytimes.comChoose Edit Page to view in Netscape Composer, another web page editing program
The red lines indicate tables and cell boundaries.
LOTS of tables and tables within tables were used in this example.
Learning how to create tables
1. Let's start by creating a new html document in FrontPage.
2. Select Table, Insert, Table (or hit the icon on the toolbar)
3. Notice the default settings in the menu: 2 rows, 2 columns.
Border size = 1 ( this is the line size of the cell )
Cell padding and cell spacing = 0 ( this is the space between the contents and the cell )
Let's keep them for now.
4. Play with your table. Type in it. Insert a picture in a cell.
5. Create another table. 6 rows by 6 columns.
6. Table, Select Row
7. Table, Merge Cells
8. Center, type "This is my Title Bar"
9. Place your cursor on a table and right click. Notice the menu of options that appears.
Experiment with these.
10. For precision alignment, create tables within tables
Hint: If you do not want your table borders to show, change the border size in the table settings to 0.
