1) Quality of Maps (45 points)

The following issues will be considered:

  1. Overall layout and composition
  2. Quality of any necessary map elements (scale, north arrow, legend, etc. as needed).  Remember, in some cases, and depending on your design and website, not all map elements (like north arrows and legends) are needed.
  3. Use of text and annotations
  4. Use of symbols to mark properties
  5. Use of visual hierarchy
  6. Use of color

2) Quality of Web Presentation (55 points)

The following issues will be considered:
  1. Does the report offer a clear, concisely organized homepage that orients visitors to the site and its purpose?
  2. Are supporting pages well organized and easy to navigate?
  3. Is the visual hierarchy used effectively?
  4. Is a consistent format ("look & feel") used across all pages?
  5. Are folders and pages clearly organized?
  6. Do all pages and links work--broken links, images, etc.?
  7. Do pages contain formatting flaws?
  8. If included, are advanced formatting options (tables, frames, JavaScript, etc.) used effectively?
