Lesson objectives:
This Web-based exercise introduces students to the concept of regionalization. The region is a fundamental theme in the discipline of geography. You can learn more about the place-specific nature of regions in this exercise.
The lesson contains three sets of activities:
- The Maps activity asks you to interpret some examples of regional classifications.
- The Discussion Forum is where you can discuss questions pertaining to a class reading and post comments, thoughts, etc. to share with others.
- The Links activity connects you to regionalist political movements around the world, and gives you an opportuntity to find more examples of local identity being asserted via the global reach of the World Wide Web.
